STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 2

So you played Star Wars Battlefront and you were bitterly disappointed – just like everyone else. Boy that game dropped like a lead brick, such a huge franchise and yet there were so many fails in it that it never recovered – now you can get all the maps for free on Origin but with so few players it hardly seems worth it.

Don’t worry though, as EA have stepped up with Star Wars Battlefront 2! They’ve taken on board all the criticism of the first game and listened to their users, they’ve made it better they said.

Did you play the beta? If you did, what did you think? If you missed out then have a look at the official video below that showcases some of the new features and expands on the details of what you can expect in the full game.

Personally I gave it a few hours, it’s clear there is a good improvement on the already impressive graphics. Game-play, of what you could try, seemed to be improved with hit accuracy being a bit better and the maps seemed quite a bit bigger and more open creating a great playable environment. But and this is a big but, it seems this franchise is now going the same way as all the other FPS type games with the introduction of loot crates aka pay to win. Apparently EA has tried to clarify this following concerns raised by players who played the beta but the fact that it’s in the game already with release due on November 14th means we’re unlikely to get anything different to the beta.

This iteration of the franchise has the potential but put right what was so massively wrong with Star Wars Battlefront, let’s hope EA don’t do their usual trick and screw it up.

As is usual there are a load of bonus items if you pre-order your copy before the release date so listed below are some quick links to the various platform editions on Amazon UK

I played quite a bit of the beta and agree that the crates just look like EA trying to get more money out their player base.

Yeah I see EA gave in and disabled the pay to win when some guy published stats on reddit about the costs involved – it’ll probably be back just in time for Christmas though!
