BETRON RETRO HEADPHONES

So I got some BeTron retro headphones sent to me, they look a little bling (gold and black) but were they any good? Well I tried them out and did a video review on my YouTube channel if you want to check it out. I seem to be doing a lot of reviews on headphones, LOL, but seriously if you don’t want to watch the video (which I recommend you do!) then they make cracking gaming headphones.

CHEAP BLUETOOTH SPEAKER

Whether you’re sat in the garden and you want to hear your tunes or you’re out and about travelling and you want to blast out the beats then having a portable speaker is a must. Having a lightweight Bluetooth one that sounds good, has plenty of bass and won’t break your bank account is no longer a fantasy.

So I’ve been sent some PICUN S6 sports headphones for review by a company that I’ve never heard of – I’m giving them a quick review for you here but what the heck is this in the box?

As someone who reviews tech and gadgets, most of the stuff is what I buy myself btw, but sometimes companies reach out to me to see if I’d like to review their stuff. Most of the time I reject them because they want 5 star reviews but if they’re happy for my genuine review then I’m happy to take a look and that’s exactly what I did with these headphones. But I wasn’t expecting some of the stuff I found in the box!

GAMING RIG LED LIGHTING

So you’ve got yourself a cool gaming rig with a nice perspex window on your side panel, or maybe you’ve got one of those all glass cases that let you see your pride and glory to it’s absolute best. But wait, it looks as dull as a cloudy rainy day and it doesn’t show off that $1000 GPU or $75 fan you bought for cooling your CPU.

Well maybe it’s time to add some lighting inside the case, perhaps some LEDs. Now you can go down the two routes here, RGB lighting or standard LED lighting – both will add a touch of colour to your setup however one costs considerably more than the other. I plumped for the standard LED lighting and in this video on my Youtube Channel I take you through the simple process of getting it installed into your gaming rig.

For less than £10 you can give your PC a lovely warm glow or a red hot look and if you’re feeling adventurous then adding a couple of LED fans will set your theme off perfectly. CORSAIR MECHANICAL KEYBOARD FIX

My Corsair K65 mechanical keyboard has been developing some problems but it’s too good to just throw it away so…. I took a look into how I could fix it. In the end it was a relatively straight forward process using some software to help me identify what the problem was.

COOLING THE PANDA

I’ve had some requests to show what effect the changes I’ve made to the LattePanda have done in terms of cooling to prevent CPU throttling. So I put together a video on my YouTube channel for you guys so you can see there result. It’s a quick stress test with Prime95 and OBS recording at the same time which I think pushes the LattePanda quite hard but happy to hear your opinions on that.

VEGAS MOVIE STUDIO 14

I decided to upgrade to Vegas Movie Studio 14 from Sony Vegas Movie Studio 13, was it worth it and what have Magix done? There are some excellent changes to the software and I’m still finding out new functionality as I use it more and more.

It wasn’t an expensive upgrade and as I was using it more and more I thought I’d do a video for you guys to help you decide if the upgrade was worth while for you.

I’VE TRASHED MY WINDOWS PHONE

I’ve been a Windows Phone user for about 4 years but now I’ve decided to trash it, these are my reasons why and what I decided to move to.

It wasn’t an easy choice, it’s an excellent operating system and an absolute joy to develop applications for however Microsoft seems like it’s in self destruct mode with Windows Phone and I don’t consider it a viable player in the mobile marketplace any more. Maybe one day this will change, but that’s a hard thing for Microsoft to achieve now.
